       小時候的莉頓．梅斯特曾出演過本地劇場排演的《綠野仙蹤》，11歲搬家到紐約后不久她成為了威廉敏娜經紀公司的一名模特，合作過的大牌攝影師包括BruceWebber以及後來成為大導演的才女索菲亞．科波拉等人。　

　　進入2000年后，梅斯特開始在電視劇場中得到越來越重要的角色，05年憑借出演NBC科幻劇集《浮出水面》中女主角勞拉的妹妹而為觀眾所熟悉，此外還在《24小時》、《豪斯醫生》、《美眉校探》、《七重天》以及《明星伙伴》等熱門劇集中亮相。

　　07年推出的小成本恐怖片《Drive-Thru》則是她第一次擔當主角的電影作品。2007年莉頓．梅斯特同布蕾克．萊弗利出任接檔《美眉校探》的新青春劇集《緋聞少女》的女主角，備受關注的本劇是根據描述生活在紐約上東區的兩位得天獨厚的少女的生活的暢銷小說改編而成，由憑借《橘子郡男孩》一鳴驚人的編劇JoshSchwartz一手打造。

　　以美劇《表面之下》(Surface)聞名的女演員。初出茅廬的她客串了許多熱門劇集，她曾經客串過《24小時》的第四季，在其中扮演黛比-佩德根 (DebbiePendleton)，在《豪斯醫生》(House)中客串出演角色阿莉(Ali)以及在《美眉校探》(VeronicaMars)中客串出演角色卡麗-比肖普(CarrieBishop)，在《第七天堂》(7thHeaven)第八季中出演肯德爾(Kendall)的新女朋友以及在《明星伙伴》(Entourage)的第一季中出演賈絲廷-夏平(JustineChapin)。

　　2006年時她出演了喜劇/驚悚類電影《Drive-Thru》的女主角。2006年春天出演了電影《美好的普通人》(TheBeautifulOrdinary)。

　　目前在CW的青春偶像劇《八卦天后》(GossipGirl)出演固定角色，本劇由暢銷小說改編，講述兩個有錢人家千金的故事。她最近還客串演出了《CSI：邁阿密》(CSI:Miami)、《BlindTrust》，並且還在詹姆斯-伍德(JamesWood)有關法庭的劇情類電視劇《律政狂鯊》(Shark)中出演新劇角色。

　　雜誌買了個關子，說他們將在9月15號出版的新一期刊物中詳細介紹Leighton Meester深藏的家世秘密。據了解，Leighton Meester出生的時候她媽媽正在得克薩斯州的聯邦監獄中服刑。他媽媽被允許在半途的一所房子（halfway house）分娩，但必須在小B滿三個月的那天繼續回到牢房服刑。這位未來的新星在她媽媽因為攜毒坐牢期間，是由親戚撫養的。

　　這些內容在Leighton Meester的傳記裡可沒有出現，那裡面說她出生在佛羅里達州的馬可島，不過她的父母是在80年代末期才搬到那裡的。
